• Editing in the Classroom

Here are some examples of what educators are saying about Casablanca. You will notice that they are all from the USA. We make no apologies for this only to make the comment that educators there realised the benefit of using video media for the benefit of the school and students alike far earlier than in the UK. They also realised how simple and quick to learn Casablanca editors are, enabling students to actually edit video instead of struggling with IT issues and learning complex programs which they may never have use for again, or which will be obsolete well before they graduate.

The Prestige has an almost non-existent learning curve and the kids spent time learning how to edit - that is, how to tell a story coherently, rather than spending hours learning a complicated interface to operate a machine which will not even exist when they enter the marketplace.

Anyone can memorize how to operate a machine. Learning to edit requires practice. I want my kids to learn to edit - not to learn to push buttons."

Phil Harris, Fairfax Academy for Communications and the Arts, Virginia

"We use the Prestige and Avio to produce news programming, educational tapes for our schools and city governments and we produce a video yearbook. The students really enjoy using the machines. My studio is always full and I have to 'kick' the kids out. I love your product."

Chuck Smith, Mainland Regional High School, New Jersey

"I had a class editing with the Prestige after one hour of instruction. The Communications Department is still trying to wring out the Premiere PC system after a year or two!"

Jim Adams, Manchester College, Indiana

"The Casablanca (Avio) is the perfect solution for all education based video projects. It is affordable, easy to use, and best of all, the quality is fantastic!"

Chris Andrews, Edgewood City Schools, Ohio

"We use 9 Cassies and 4 Krons in our college level basic video production class. Students with zero experience in editing and computers learn to produce a complete video production with titles and music with less than 8 hours of group instruction -- something that would be impossible with more complex editing software. And we have the convenience of giving each student Their own hard drives."

"As a high school teacher in New Jersey I have been using the Casablanca Products since 1997 and am extremely please with the product.

We use the Prestige and Avio to produce news programming, educational tapes for our schools and city governments and we produce a video yearbook. With the added DVD capability, this is the 1st year we are producing the video yearbook on DVD and the sales have skyrocketed. The students really enjoy using the machines. My studio is always full and I have to "kick" the kids out. Thanks for any additional information. I love your product. "

"There are more well-known software editing programs out there but those programs all have serious learning curves. Some of them almost require that you have an expensive contract for telephone customer support or enough money to hire a "trained expert" to be on staff.

All of my students are juniors and seniors in high school. That means they are 5-6 years away from entering the job market. Any expensive big name editing program I purchase to use in my facility will be long obsolete by the time my kids enter the marketplace. So to make my kids education more efficient, I chose the Casablanca products.

"I too, believe the Casablanca (Avio) is a great product. Each time I use it my judgment in buying it reinforced. I have found that the only problems I encounter are ones that I have created. It is extremely reliable and has met all of my expectations."
