Smart Edit 7 continues to allow 1080i HDV Editing, but the majority of features in Smart Edit 7 are for those editing standard definition (SD) who will enjoy all these features.
* Enhanced VGA display modes
Smart Edit 7 allows you to access even higher resolution
monitoring of your Casablanca menus, up to 1920 x 1200 pixels . And when using this
highest resolution setting, your Edit window provides the benefit of viewing more
scenes in your Scene Bin (picture above). This new feature will enhance the experience,
particularly those who spend hours in front of their editing interface. You have
more information available with more clarity than ever before! Also, each of the
VGA resolutions is clearly labeled to ensure you select the best one for your specific
monitor.
* New Choices in Trim, Split and Insert Menus
You can use the same menus you are used
to but you also have the choice of selecting these new settings that provide you
with additional information. With Smart Edit 7 you are able to view both the in and
out frames at the same time, and in Trim mode you see the selected in point minus
1 frame and the selected out point plus 1 frame. This additional information is what
some of our professional customers have been yearning for and now we have it!
* Titler Enhancements
Smart Edit 7 provides two very attractive new benefits in the
Titler Window. Under the Text -
* Supercharged Photo recording
Not only have our software developers improved the
picture quality, the clarity of images captured live from a camera into your Casablanca

* Automatic Transition FX insert tool
In the Smart Edit 7 Transition Window, you
can select one or multiple transition effects to be automatically added to the Storyboard.
You can now also automatically remove every transition in the Storyboard, or all
transitions from a given position to the end of the storyboard. Both of these are
big time-
* Select the Reference Scene for your Scene icons
As before Smart Edit shows the first
frame of any scene as the icon in the Scene Bin & Storyboard. But with Smart Edit
7 you can customize the icon and scroll through the scene to select the frame you
wish to reveal as the icon! For example, you may have a scene where you pan across
the church to reveal the bride standing by the altar -
* Group-
For those who have very involved projects
with footage you wish to organize, you can use the new Grouping function in Smart
Edit 7. You add your own names for groups of scenes and can add specific scenes into
those groupings. Then you simply click a button and your Scene Bin shows only the
one or selected scenes you wish to reveal. This allows you to work with a lot of
scenes in a more manageable environment.
* Enhanced FX Preview modes
Under the Special list of the Edit Screen Smart Edit 7
continues to provide the choices we currently enjoy in the Full Size preview window
but adds several very useful additional options.
You can now view a preview of both the original scene and the scene with the effect
in small preview windows along with two additional choices. You can also click a
