Replacing RAM Avio 2, Prestige & Kron

With power leads disconnected use a Phillips screwdriver to remove five screws from the rear perimeter as indicated. Three screws along the top and one at each end.

Use a flat bladed screwdriver between the back plate and the upper half of the cabinet at either side to lever the cabinet forwards.

When the cabinet is about 2 cm forward it

will lift off complete with front panel

The RAM chip(s) are situated

at the front left of the machine

Some machines have two RAM

chips. Remove both by moving

outwards the white clips

situated at each end of the chips.

This action raises the chips out

of their sockets.

Note the two keyways which must

be located when replacing chips.

Fit the single new RAM chip into the

socket furthest back if there are two

sockets. Locate the keyways and press

firmly down. The retaining clips will

close automatically.

Locate cabinet lugs at either side and slide back into position.

Ensure cabinet is firmly back against the back plate before

re-fitting screws.
