Prestige/Kron/Avio DVD burner replacement

Remove five screws from the rear

Use flat bladed screwdriver to lever cabinet top away from back plate at either side alternately until there is about 2cm gap either side. When retaining lugs are clear lift of cabinet top complete with front

DVD burner

Remove 2 screws from either side of the DVD burner and slide out forwards

Carefully remove IDE and power cable.  Note that the IDE cable has a key way so must be re-fitted the right way around. Also the 4 pin power cable is curved on one side and must also be re-fitted the right way around

Now slide in new DVD burner and reverse the previous procedure.

NB Jumper on the rear of  the burner should be set to Master for Prestige and Kron plus, Slave for Kron and Avio.

Replace cabinet top ensuring the lugs locate and firmly push back evenly against rear plate. If the top is not pushed back completely, front power switch may not work.

Kron/Kron plus, you will need to remove the hard drive and brackets to access the DVD retaining screws.

Remove this screw and slide the bracket assembly toward the burner to release.
