The situation with BluRay player compatibility is at last improving. Most of the early BluRay players will play only commercially made BR disks and not “burned” (AVCHD) disks as produced by pc’s and Casablanca. Most manufacturers will provide software upgrades either online or on a CD to add AVCHD reading capability. Most new players should include AVCHD disk compatibility. NB some models list AVCHD for SD cards, check that AVCHD disks will play.

 

We recommend if possible taking a “burned” disk into the store to test players before purchase. We have tested and know that the following models are compatible;
